If it's just the <P> tag getting inserted in your text you might want
to uncheck:

"Do not remove leading <P> tags from texts"

This checkbox can be located by navigating to "Administer Project Settings >
General Settings" and then clicking "Edit Settings" in the right hand action
menu.
