Yes, that should work. Like BramDHoest says, check all your names and make sure that everything is correct.
I also had a problem once that prevented the list from sorting unless I submitted my pages to workflow. After you add a new page, go to Tasks and then submit your draft pages to workflow and then check if the list is sorted.
