It depends on which part of the URL you want to rewrite :) If you want to change the server name, i.e. http://server:8080/ to http://fred.bloggs ), then you'll need an external system something like Bluecoat.
If you're looking to hide the excess information that Liveserver adds in, i.e. cps/rde/xchg/blahblahblah, then this is possible through Liveserver with a little bit of python script. Leave it with me and I'll try and write something up tomorrow for the latter option.
