Hi Ashley

We have done this parent/child setup for our project, and we also
faced the same problem of missing preassignments and references in
content classes.

Then we tried a new approach to do it. Take the export of start page
from your Parent/Master project with "All following" option selected
(before this make sure that your parent project has at least one
instance of each content class). After this create a new blank project
with just a single content class with an anchor. Now on the instance
of this content class take import of Start page of parent project with
"All following option selected". This do the following things :

1. Will bring the content of parent to this new project, if the
content is not required you can also delete it,
2. Will bring all code of parent project in read only shared mode,
3. Will bring all the preassignments and references as well.

Hence this project will automaticaly become the child project of the
Parent/Master (from where you took the export).

Let me know if you have any confusion.

Pawan
