Can you please elaborate more about your solution? I am kinda confused
but very interested with it.

What exactly is the XML template you are referring to? The one that
contains navigation manager or that page template that calls the
navigation manager?

Also, if I mix tags like this: <?xml version="1.0"
encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> and other html tags
with render tags, it reddot doesn't create the right result.

Excuse me if I have a lot of questions and thanks in advance.
