I started with in a large Company by altering some of the existing
projects. Of course it's learning by doing and some times very hard,
but better than starting from the scratch. So probably it's the best
thing to have someone expierienced you can talk to cause the system is
quite differnet from other systems (but different does not mean worse!
- but of course if you do not know anything about RedDot you will need
quite a time to look into.)

@nestor: if you need several month in Red Dot for something you can
accomplish with another system in an afternoon than you are probable
good in another system but know nothing about RedDot. Probable not
your fault because a afternoon of training is not enough time for
learning anything about any (enterprise) content management system!

Best way to learn some basics - go to some training and talk to people
with experience. You can find such in company's using Red Dot,
agencies working with Red Dot or at Red Dot itself. Try to get as many
example projects you can get and look into content classes and
Smarttree - the concept will get clearer with every project you'll
see.

Greetings
Martin
