I don't have Oracle experience, either, but I've heard about a case
where an encoding problem was the reason, as RedDot by default uses
UTF-8, and Oracle by default uses ASCII. When setting up the database,
the Oracle admin must take care of every single field (I think...) and
set its encoding correctly. There is a description available within
the RedDot Installation Documentation.
