I agree that the project is not huge. The navigation is built using the container/list approach. Th amount of data that's get published varies on changes made by editors, but even when only 1 page is published, the time needed to do so is always the same: 21 hours. It just takes more time now to simply check what has to be published than it did in the older version. The combined size of the asset folders is about 2Gb (not spectacular). The publishing report does not mention any anomalies. I'll have to check whether I am able to test publish to a local folder. I don't know if it has an impact on publishing performance, but we use an Oracle database. Upgrading to version 10 is maybe the best solution.
