We started having the issue when we went to 9.0.0.27. We are now on 9.0.1.46 and have not had the issue in a while.
And like you since we cannot force it to happen, it is impossible to tell what happened. Our solution was to write a monitor that scans our sites every 15 minutes and looks for a piece of the RedDot code that we know is in a Template which would never appear as something that is published. Thus is the monitor finds a page, we then republish the page. Not ideal, but to date we do not know why this happens, or a fix to it. If we get anywhere with Support and have a solution, I will let you know. Please let me know, if you figure something out!
