Actually, I assumed that too, but it turns out it's even better than that! The include dynament can include content from ANY URL. Presumably, overuse of this would lead to some pretty slow page load times when content is not served from cache, but it could be very useful. For example, the content that I'm including lives outside of LiveServer (since it needs to be included by other non-LS pages, such as our wordpress installation), but directly on our web server, so it can be included just by prefixing the anchor placeholder with our full domain in the template.
Like I say, initial page build speed is a concern (due to lots of HTTP requests being fired off), so I'm considering getting the common content to publish out both as static HTML on our web server, and as content within LiveServer.
