Hi All, I've been with RedDot/OpenText for 5 years now and just became a Solutions Consultant. As part of this move I'm going to try to be more engaged in our existing customer communities. So hopefully, I can provide some clarification on this topic. The official stance for OpenText support is that they support the last two major releases (currently 9.x and 10.x). That said, you are always welcome to call support and they will help you as best they can. I haven't heard of anyone being turned away because of the software release, but I know the breadth of knowledge on the team declines significantly as you move to versions before 7.5. I know my memory isn't that great. Sometimes their best answer is to recommend an upgrade. With each new release, additional features are added and performance has greatly increased. As far as their recommendation for training, that advice is usually given when questions are presented that are covered in the Project Builder 5-day course. This course is a highly recommended prerequisite for building projects, supporting existing projects, or receiving support. And if you haven't received training in a few years, the course would be great for you to take again. With each new release, it is updated to reflect the services team's newest best practices. -Emily On Nov 18, 11:36 am, fgfp <[email protected]> wrote: > We run 7.5 and had some major problems over the summer that OT really > did not offer much 'support' on.
