It is doable if you are talking about hooking up a snapshot of your project
with CMS 10 on the test box. After all the project database just needs to be
upgraded/updated once and it should be flying. There should be no issue for
your Prod CMS box and Test CMS box to share a common publication target.

However, if you are talking about log-shipping at regular interval CMS 7.5's
project DB to that on the Test box's SQL server, you would at least have to
run DB update with every restore at the destination SQL Server.

And what is the main objective of your testing? Without testing the
editorial feature, I am afraid that the compatibility of 10 with your
project is still far from proven.
