Siteport (http://www.siteport.net) was originally built for this purpose. 
 It lets you migrate sections of the content tree, content classes and 
metadata from one RedDot server to another RedDot server.  

It now also helps move content from one CMS to another (e.g. moving content 
and templates from RedDot to Sitecore).
