APMd weirdness.

i just saw the strangest thing.
I have a laptop running a redhat-based distro (mandrake), and i just got
these messages :

it reset my clock??!?!
i am at a loss here. i checked apm and apmd docs, man's and faqs.
i couldnt find it.
