Let's not get too precise;-). Might spoil the fun.
If the matter can be construed as "development" (as opposed to installing &
configuring) in some sense it's fairly reasonable.
I'd argue that my UPS question insofar as it related to possible packages for
inclusion in future releases is okay; the followons to my postscript marginal (as the
constitute advice on something else) but then again the UPSs mentioned mostly come
with software so powerd and its kin are not required.
I think that's the sort of use RHI gets out of it. Ultimately, the use of the list is
what the users want it to be; it's fair and reasonable to tell people asking "how do I
configure..." to go away, but Amity suggests that if the topic can be construed as
development it should be allowed without comment.
While this list is fairly busy, it's volume isn't too great.
A mesage from Jag just dropped into my folder. No, Jag; This list predates Rawhide. A
Rawhide list would be called rawhide-list (and maybe should exist!).
When RHS instigated Rawhide, it nominated this list for discussion of it, but this
list was up & running long before that.
