Hi, I'm using RDUMP to dump redhat linux v4.2 filesystems to a DLT tape drive on a remote server ('remotedlt' below). The first dump worked perfectly. However, since then, each time the root (/) filesystem is trying to backup, I get the error message: 'master/slave protocol botched' (see below for section from dump log). The other 2 filesystems backup with no problems. I tried changing the order of the filesystems to be backed up to see if it helped, but each time the error relates to the root filesystem. Would anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening ? ====================================== DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Fri May 22 00:30:00 1998 DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch DUMP: Dumping /dev/hda1 (/) to /dev/nrmt0h on host remotedlt.ucd.ie DUMP: mapping (Pass I) [regular files] DUMP: mapping (Pass II) [directories] DUMP: estimated 16017 tape blocks on 0.00 tape(s).
