Hi, since I installed RH 5.1, I can't get a new build kernel to boot. I use the sources from the linux-2.034.tar.gz file that I downloaded from a site that mirrors nic.funet.fi. Cnfiguration and compilation work fine. Lilo installation works too. When booting, I see the following messages : Loading linux... Uncompressing linux...done. Now booting the kernel and then the computer resets (as if I pressed the RESET button!). I compiled the kernel with egcs-1.0.2-8 + egcs-c++-1.0.2-8 + gcc-2.7.2.3-11 (standard packages that come with RH 5.1), and with egcs-1.0.3a-1 + egcs-c++-1.0.3a-1. The same .. (libc : glibc-2.0.7-13 + glibc-devel-2.0.7-13) Please send me an E-Mail (to my private address, because I'm not subscribed to the list), if you have any idea of where te problem can be.
