Howdy. I'm the guy that's been bitching about my fonts getting messed
up when I launch Communicator. I was running Afterstep with some
generic hardware at high virtual and physical resolutions. I played
with Communicator running under the other two "offered" WMs, lesstif and
fvwm95. Here are the results:

No text corruption under lesstif with Communicator running, even under
what I determined to be "torture tests" under Afterstep. However, the
background tended to get corrupted with white dots if you moved the
Communicator windows around (other apps behaved normally, and wiped the
desktop corruption away if you dragged them over the dots).

No corruption at all under fvwm95. I literally *raped* the thing, and
it was flawless. This fact makes me *REALLY* nervous! I didn't
purchase Linux for a windows look-and-feel. I liked Afterstep. I'll
try KDE when it's officially released via RPM. I'd rather run my old
Caldera with a limited Looking Glass than fvwm95. I clearly can't run
Afterstep.

Red Hat, pay attention to things that don't look like '95. I ignore
anything that does, even if it works (although I was willing to do
anything I could to break it, and couldn't). I'm an anti-M$ zealot. I
didn't purchase your product for a lame windows look-and-feel. For some
reason, fvwm95 works on your distribution while the other valid WMs are
flakey. I reject fvwm95. Make one of the others work.

Mike
