OK RedHat 4.2. KFC 17" Smile monitor. Trident 9680. Had Xwindows working.
1. RedHat 5.0 works fabulous on this setup, 4.2 stopped working. All I get
is jagged blue line at the bottom, can't do nothing without rebooting. Is
there any other way out of Xwindows besides CTRL-ALT-DEL??? I have tried
everything, typing exit, CTRL-ALT-BKSP, CTRL-C, everything.
2. What can I do to stop this so that I may go to Xwindows again?
3. And this is way off this topic, rcp and any other way to get a file from
one linux terminal to another, how do I set these up?
4. Again, a little off topic but my brain is going, if I upgrade from 4,2 to
5.1, will I have to change config files back or will it just run. This is a
mission critical machine running sendmail and DNS, will those two things run
still after the upgrade????
Anybody know any of these??
