Not entirely true now that Apache 1.3 has apxs. It makes it very easy
to make modules such as PHP without needing the Apache sources. I
uploaded rpms of Apache 1.3 and PHP 3.0 to Red Hat a week a go which
makes use of this, but for some unknown reason they haven't made it
out of incoming yet. Those who want to download and give them a try
may do so from this location:
