I am running Redhat 5.0, AfterStep 1.4.5, & kernel 2.0.31 ...
Does anyone know of a *simple* rundown to customising the AfterStep
toolbar? Positioning, orientation (sexually as well as directionally :)
buttons, button size, etc...
Also, after I modify the subdirectories of
/GNUstep/Library/AfterStep/start and then restart the WM those changes
take effect. However, after rebooting the computer and coming back into
AfterStep the changes to the start subdirectories are all lost and it is
returned to the original state!
Also, my sound seems to be working (sndconfig makes a noise in a foreign
language)... yet nothing in AfterStep or TkDesk will make a single
sound. Yes, I have uncommented the set TkDesk(soundcmd)... stuff.
Also, when I try the following at the command line I get an error:
[dtaylor@localhost ~]$ play /usr/lib/TkDesk/sounds/halt.au
/usr/bin/play: /dev/audio: Device or resource busy
Another thing... I also want certain apps to run every time I enter
AfterStep.
And another thing... I cannot get xdm to work with AfterStep. I set the
initdefault runlevel to 5 but xdm does not appear upon boot. When I
type 'ps', I see that there are 3 xdm processes running.
Any ideas on any of the above would be extremely appreciated.
Regards,
David Taylor.
