Hi friends, my LAN has static İP structure. Also include SUN hosts. I want to watch all ip traffic windows+sun+linux. CAn you advice any tool? thank you....
if you want to get a nice graphic tool of what's going on, look into the following tools:
netsaint ngrep argus network probe (network objective, i think)
all bout ngrep is web browser based. you can setup monitoring and alerts to see the status on numerous things. if you want easy configuration with analysis try network probe (make sure you plug it into a span or monitor port near your gw), you could get info on dst->src; host type; host protocol; dst->src conversation; nic (mac), etc... warning need java and accessing from remote machine does takes some cpu/mem utilization on the box. i use a simple linux box to run this app only for just quick snapshot of how much packet/size go through specific protocol.
