I have a linux server connected to a hub that is also connecting my
Win95 desktop and my partners MAC OS8 desktop, as well as a few guest
machines. I do not have netatalk running, i use samba to allow the mac
access to the shared and private folders using mac's tcp/ip protocols. I
do have appletalk running on the linux box, but not really using that
protocol that i know of. Netatalk i thought was for print sharing?!?!?
Hope this hasnt confused the issue, but as long as samba is setup
correctly, and the mac machine can talk to the linux box, all should be
well. Considering you have the tcp/ip and ethernet setup properly on the
MAC.
