Sorry, but I am running four Maxtor drives, all without a hitch.  Before
I got the latest Maxtor, I also had purchased a Western Digital and it was
only up a few weeks before it crashed, and it crashed good.  I shut down
the Linux box to make a trip and when I got back, I turned on the system,
only to have the drive crash real hard within hours.

Your mileage obviously varied.
