Running RHL 4.2
On all 6 virtual console displays some incorrect characters are
being displayed. All ascii characters 20-2f are being displayed
as 30-3f. Spaces are zeros, dashes become equals, etc. All other
characters are correct.
I have tried numerous stty options and setterm options. Nothing
changes. X session displays are fine. Everything seems to be
working well. This happened some time ago and went away when I
rebooted, but came back again later. I don't remember the circumstances
when the bad display recurred.
Has anyone run into this before?
Of course I could reboot but that is not the unix way. I'll have to do
that in a couple of weeks when I have to move this box. I've got 98 days
uptime right now. Certainly no record but it's bragging rights around here.
