Thanks for your answer, Kevin. I've done a few degausses (sp?) and it
seems better. Now to answer something you didn't really explicitly
ask... but it does provide fuel for the ponderance of OS simplicity.

I have a button to do that...
I think it's called QuickDesk (or something like that). It comes with
the PowerToys collection of utilities, and it allows you to switch to
any resolution and colour depth supported by your card, on the fly,
without a reboot, without stuffing around in the control panel. It sits
next to your system clock on the system tray. To install it, you right
click on the *.inf file and select "install"... easy, right?
