Hi. I downloaded the source for kernel 2.2.13 yesterday and have had
some trouble make a suitable kernel from it. I have a dual-PII with an
adaptec 2940uw card, a soundblaster sound card, and intel etherexpress
pro/100 nic, and that's about it. I don't require IDE support or much
else. However, whenever I build aic7xxx support for my scsi adapter as a
module, I can't boot because my system can't mount the root filesystem
and it goes into a kernel panic. Whenever I compile support for aic7xxx
directly into the kernel, /sbin/lilo says that vmlinuz is too big. I
would appreciate any advice that people on this list can give me.

Thanks,
Jim
