I'm a new user to Linux and I recently installed Rh 6.0, made it through
the installation okay but when I wanted to configure the modem, I had a
problem. Here are the details:
Modem is on COM2, so I selected that through the modem configuration
utility. Then, to test the modem, I tried to run minicom. I got this
message at minocom "warning: configuration files not found, using
defaults". This message appears for 4 seconds and terminal is killed by
itself. I typed the minicom at the command line and got the same message
and the following " Device /dev/modem is locked".
I know for sure that my modem is not a "winmodem". It's a voice/fax 56K
Aztech Modem.
I'd really appreciate any help/suggestions.
