Here's the situation:

I'm converting from 56k dialup (24/7) to DSL...

The telco is on strike (verizon - was Bell Atlantic), so they can't install
for a while...

When they get around to it, part of their deal will be to check that I have
an extra pair of phone lines (which would be my second phone line)... If
that line is being used, they will charge me to install a new phone line...

So, I need to have service on my 2nd phone line turned off, & hook my server
to my main phone line for a while...

Now then, that's the catch, I suppose... I need to convert my startup from
autorunning the autodialer (which starts up automatically) to a
dial-on-demand system, or I'm not gonna be able to use my main voice line...

Have I made this all clear as mud?

The next step will come after the strike is over & I can get my DSL
equipment installed.... I will then need to convert my server & internal
network to the DSL line... I'll probably need help when I cross that
bridge, too ;/...

Thanks in advance for your help

        Tom
