I use Firestarter and it is both bulletproof and versatile. One potential
disadvantage depending on how you view it:
- requires the gnome libraries and thus X to be running.
But in return you get a highly interactive app that allows you to open and
close holes in your firewall in realtime. Note that you can still dedicate a
whole machine as a firewall but you will need one capable of running X.
