Problem lies in the kernel trying to disable the PIII CPUID number, which
your AMD doesn't have.

You'll have to type this in at the lilo prompt (i.e. type 'linux
x68_serial_nr=1') the first time to get your system booted. Once it boots,
add it to your /etc/lilo.conf and run 'lilo' so lilo can do it for you on
subsequent reboots.
I've been told the 2.2.16 kernel in the RHL 6.2 errata is compiled such that
this fix isn't necessary, YMMV.
