did you change ip address of your belize ,  then get it updated in your nis
server.

put every like host,atomounter,passwd exepect etheres,netmasks change all the
host lookups to nis.

/var/yp makefile is script not binary it should only make sense if you are
running nis server or it's of no use.

all your lookups are currently going through dns i belive.

see your /etc/resolve.conf and try nslookup belize.

check for the ip address, i don't think belize is nickname.
