The easiest answer?  Don't use a bridge.  If you do your VPN using
FreeSWAN, it will work properly, and you will have the benefits of using
IPSec (reliable, heavily tested, inter-operability with other VPN solutions,
etc.).

Next time RHAT spins a new kernel (that is, that has Andrea's VM) release,
I'm thinking of taking their kernel and adding in the FreeSWAN patches.
I would make the updated .spec file and whatever patches you'd need available,
but not the entire kernel srpm, unless someone wanted to donate the load
of bandwidth required to host those files.  Perhaps sourceforge will fit
the bill for that...

Anyhow, does anyone have any interest in seeing alternate kernel releases
that are equivalent to the RH kernels, but add FreeSWAN functionality?
