Hello Jake, I know this might not help a lot since it is xmas and the old memory isn't working to well, but I know that you can setup samba to use a M$ server as a password server...think it is under the
[GLOBAL] security = DOMAIN password server = ip_of_BDC I think this will work for you.... Here is what I'd like: 1) The users should be able to manage their own password. 2) Creation of a Unix account/password should be sufficient to authenticate against for Samba. This will avoid my having to create two accounts: one for unix and one for samba. 3) A user changing the windows password would, in effect, be changing both the samba and unix passwords. As a side issue, where is swat under RH 7.2? It is not a part of the standard samba server installation? What's the best way of getting/installing it? TIA! ...Jake -- Jake Colman Principia Partners LLC Phone: (201) 946-0300 Harborside Financial Center Fax: (201) 946-0320 902 Plaza Two E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jersey City, NJ 07311 www.principiapartners.com _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
