Hi I have a question.
When I add new rulses to the input and output chain,
it is gone next morning.
I have an ADSL conn. and is online all the time.
I used a portscanner and fund that these ports where
open on my PC:And I want to close all except port 80.
port 25 tcp smtp,
port 111 tcp sunrpc
port 631 tcp cups # my printer
port 1024 tcp kdm
port 1025 tcp listen
port 6000 tcp X11

Then I added these two lines to the bottom of the
chain and get this printout.
Chain input (policy ACCEPT) source dest. ports.
ACCEPT all ------- anywhere anywhere n/a
ACCEPT  udp ----- thufir.bluecom.no anywhere domain ->
a # bluecom is my ISP.
ny
ACCEPT udp ---- gurney.bluecom.no anywhere any -> a
REJECT tcp -y----- anywhere anywhere any -> any
REJECT udp --------   -----------"----------------
DENY tcp ------- 127.0.0.0/24 anywhere tcp:finger ->
any
DENY tcp --------127.0.0.0/24 anywhere 81:65535 -> any

The problem is that the 2 last lines dissapeared
during the night.
Aren't they nessessary because I'am protected higher
up in the chain??????

Any idea???
