I've got 4 RH7.1 boxes accessing an NFS mount from a Solaris7 box. I'm using some file caching and such to improve performance, and am trying to find out more about the unknown effects of what I am doing. One thing that I notice is that the solaris nfsstat provides much more RPC information than the one on my RH boxes. Is there a way to get this same information on the RH boxes? Specifically: on solaris: nfsstat gives me: Client rpc: Connection oriented: calls badcalls badxids timeouts newcreds badverfs 0 0 0 0 0 0 timers cantconn nomem interrupts 0 0 0 0 Connectionless: calls badcalls retrans badxids timeouts newcreds 8 1 0 0 0 0 badverfs timers nomem cantsend 0 5 0 0
on RH: Client rpc stats: calls retrans authrefrsh 3135 0 0 Another question, which may be OT and better suited to an NFS list, is how/where is the file cache kept? In other words, let's say I'm caching all the file attributes on an 80Gig filesystem for 10 hours... where is that cache? RAM/Swap/Local disk? How can I track what, if any, impact this rather large and long caching scheme has on overall system performance? Where can I find the nfs client cache stats on the RH boxes? Again, I realise that some of this may be considered OT, apologies, but any and all help and suggestions are appreciated! -- Matthew Boeckman (816) 777-2160 Manager - Systems Integration Saepio Technologies == == /earth is 98% full ... please delete anyone you can. _______________________________________________ Redhat-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
