I'm editing the rules through webmin and the file time/date does appear
to be getting updated. Also, I think it's working because I can remove
the "homail.com REJECT" and I receive mail again from hotmail.com.

For good measure I did do the command as you stated below, but I get the
same thing.

When I have the following rules and try to send a message from my
hotmail account ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) I get the following error in
the mail log.

Rules snipet:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] OK
hotmail.com REJECT

mail log:
Aug 30 07:38:29 sammy sendmail[8122]: g7UBcOY08122: ruleset=check_relay,
arg1=f8.pav1.hotmail.com, arg2=64.4.31.8, relay=f8.pav1.hotmail.com
[64.4.31.8], reject=550 5.7.1 Access denied
Aug 30 07:38:30 sammy sendmail[8122]: NOQUEUE: f8.pav1.hotmail.com
[64.4.31.8] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA

I get the exact same error if I use RELAY instead of OK.

Thanks,
James
ps - in response to Martin Mewes, if people assume no answer means a
simple no, people are going to miss out on valuable information. this is
a busy list, and unfortunately sometimes it's necessary to post a couple
times. In this specific post someone else replied that it does work,
where it doesn't for me. that too is going to make anyone dig deeper...
