Judging from my own desktop experience, 64MB should be easly possible when using a small Window Manager and not much else, but it looks like I should definitely go for a machine that *can* have more (many of the oldies max out at 64MB or even 40MB...). Well, at least one of the stations I specifically want to listen to doesn't offer RealAudio streams (Windoze only), so I've already experimented with that. 'mplayer' fits the bill perfectly - it does need a 'doze DLL to do so, but once you have that one, it works well for WMP streams.
