Some suggestions (that you might have already tried): - Update to the very newest RH 7.3 kernel (a RH variation on 2.4.18, only a few days old), it is has better virtual memory, that might help. - Get the preemptable kernel patch (the RH 2.4.18-17.7.x might have it, I don't know), turn it on, and recompile. That will lower the worst latencies a *lot* and stop of a lot of hiccoughs in your sound. It puts Linux a lot closer to pretending it is a realtime operating system. The string "Robert Love" might help in your searches for this patch. - Tweak your hard disk performance with hdparm. That can help your general performance, but to the extent it makes your swap faster it might clean up some audio problems. - Send out another progress report once you have more news! -kb, the Kent whose (somewhat) old Viao Z505LE isn't quite so squeezed--nor so small. -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:redhat-list-request@;redhat.com?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
