Since this is an isolated lan, you should add all the hosts on each network into
your /etc/hosts file.  The other option is to setup a DNS server.

This warning is caused by traceroute finding two network interfaces that support
IP (eth0 and ppp0).  You can get rid of the warning by specifying on the command line
which interface to use:  /usr/sbin/traceroute fred -i eth0
