Hi ,
I am trying to get ppp running using my linux 5.0 for Alpha. I am
running it on Axp pci33 machine. I am using Motorola VoiceSurfer 56K
internal modem. I can get the modem to work using minicom.
When i try to run ppp, i can get a serial connection established :

May 1 18:43:43 localhost chat[845]: send (ppp^M)
May 1 18:43:43 localhost pppd[843]: Serial connection established.
May 1 18:43:44 localhost pppd[843]: Using interface ppp0
May 1 18:43:44 localhost pppd[843]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/modem
May 1 18:43:49 localhost pppd[843]: local IP address 158.140.31.21
May 1 18:43:49 localhost pppd[843]: remote IP address 158.140.31.3
May 1 18:43:49 localhost pppd[843]: ioctl(SIOCADDRT) device route: Network is
unreachable
the last line above is Network is unreachable.
Also if i do ifconfig ppp0:
ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol
inet addr:158.140.31.21 P-t-P:158.140.31.3 Mask:255.255.0.0
POINTOPOINT MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:9 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0
TX packets:10 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0
Please respond as i have spent enough time trying to figure out the
problem. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
