Hi,
I ve setted all the files in /etc/ppp (options, pap-secrets,ppp-on and
ppp-on-dialer that I moved from usr/doc/ppp-2.20f-3/scripts/).
Then I did from root chmod +x /etc/ppp/ppp-on and also chmod +x
/etc/ppp/ppp-on-dialer.
I also did chmod +x /usr/sbin/pppd.
But when I try executing /etc/ppp/ppp-on or /etc/ppp/ppp-on-dialer,
I get a ++ sign followed by RA and then I m back to root automatically..or
sometimes, it dials my phone once..and nothing..no handshake.

Btw, I ve installed a new Network card EtherPCILan Card II from linksys on
my win95 partition (dev/hda1), but when I did install redhat 4.2 on
/dev/hda2, I couldnt install it during installation cause It asked me
things I still do not know (I/O, IRQ..), my NIC is Pnp...
well, I launched netcfg and did ADD INTERFACE at the network configurator
graphical box. So I ve selected Ethernet and gave an IP to my card, and
instead of choosing available options of ptotocols (DHCP, BOOTP), I just
manually entered Tcp IP.
I guess, it s not the way of installin my NIC on redhat 4.2..right^
?
What should I do..Pls?
When I do ifconfig ppp0, lo0 or eth0, I always get message "unknown
Interface"..why is that?

Thanks
