first thanks to all on the ppp list for helping me out with prompt
suggestions for setting up the PPP server.
my ppp server is up and running . installed mgetty to service ttyS0
requests.

there is a small problem though. after ppp link is up , i am able to ping
the ppp server but nothing beyond that. this ppp server is connected to a
a lan on the ethernet. when i try to ping any host( capella) on the net ,
there is no reply. my modem lights indicate outgoing packets for icmp
messg.
it took me some time to figure out from the arp and route table entries

before that let me clarify that i there also happens to be a wavelan card
which has been renamed as wln0.
i have given 'proxyarp' options in /etc/ppp/options both at ppp server
and ppp client.
