Hi, 1) What is the difference between a precompiled module and a normal one. 2) When I install a module ( by insmod, I suppose??)..what is the difference that occurs between the install of a normal module and the one of a precompiled? 3) A module is generally a compressed tar.gz file I can find on the net..then decompress in the directory of my choice?? or in /usr/src/linux??? or ??? But what about the command "insmod"?? Where and when should I execute it?? Just after decompressing the module?? Pls help me on how modules work??
