And another thing: 16 of those 28 runs came in either the first five innings of Game 2, when Kazmir was awful, and the last three innings of Game 5. In the other 55 innings of the ALCS, the Sox scored 12 pitiful runs. That's less than two runs a game. Hard to believe that lineup could be that weak. -- Matt

This game was a lot like Game 7 of the Mets-Cardinals NLCS in 2006. The Cards won, 3-1, the Mets got three hits and the fans spent the entire winter blaming Willie Randolph because he didn't bunt somebody somewhere or something. Game 7, trip to the World Series on the line, a lineup with a friggin $14 million outfielder and a $12 million DH has got to come up with more than three hits. Wouldn't a healthy Mike Lowell have made a difference in this series? Mark Kotsay drove in ZERO runs and left, I think, 17 runners on base in 40 at-bats in the ALCS. Jason Bay also had a quiet series. The Rays had 43 runs in this series, the Sox only 28. Such a disappointing and meek end to a terrific series and a good season. -- Matt --- On Sun, 10/19/08, Tom Salemi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: Tom Salemi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Game 7 To: [email protected] Date: Sunday, October 19, 2008, 11:58 PM Congrats to the Rays.
