Here's what I'm saying.  John had a long lost of reasons why he hated  
Nomar: "not a team player" "phoney" etc. And the suddenly Nomar is "a  
good guy" and "humble".

And John is not alone in making these value judgements about the  
personalities of ball players.  We hear these kinds of statements all  
the time.

I'm saying that all these statements, the good and the bad, are crap.  
We don't have any idea what these guys are really like, and I'd were  
smart we'll accept the fact that we can't know. We are always viewing  
these guys through the image that their publicist creates for us.

So I think it's fine to judge these guys based on their on field  
contributions, but beyond that we're just being played.
