I don't forget that.
It was minor in comparison to contemporaries. And, yes, he did wise up with
grace. He became tolerant and quiet. I respect that he learned and set his ego
aside.

People rightly forget that Wake used to be a chronic complainer and thorn in
management's side. His is a study of learning grace.

Thanks for you're last line, Dan. :-)

Good for Wake. Have you known any Sox player to go so quietly about his
business for so long?

2 ER, 14 K's, not a bad start for the kid. One of my brothers was at
the game, and he texted me during it,
'S going for perfect game!'. I reminded him that the Nationals were
playing the Pirates, so it wouldn't count....
Still, why can't we get pitchers like that?? ;-)

Wakefield takes over #1 in innings pitched for the Sox. I think that
gets him into the HOF, Sox version....

Oh, and a nice win by the Olde Towne Team last night, too.... They face
old friend J-Mat tonight (of the 11
straight lost decisions prior to his last start). I'm thinking that
with Buchy and Lester pitching the next 2 games,
we have a pretty good chance of taking the series, if not sweeping it
outright.
