I have no interest in a token effort.  Do or do not do...there is no token.

That said, I don't buy this whole idea that the Sox and the Yankees should
distort their rosters with a specific goal of winning the 5 games (max) that
Lee will face the other team.  The fact of the matter is that this kind of
planning always ends in disappointment.  Out of 5 games (max) that they
might meet each other with Lee pitching the team with Lee will probably win
3 and the other team 2.  Maybe 4-1.  Very unlikely to be 5-0.


The reason we NEED to get Cliff Lee is that we need an ace.  Beckett is
done, Dice-K never was.  Lester and Buckholz are great, but we can't pray
for rain 3 games out of 5.
