Funny you mentioned that. Felger has been making that case on 98.5 -- that the huge drop in NESN ratings and general malaise in the fan base are what prompted these deals. Much as I hate to agree with Felger, I think he's absolutely right. He also goes on a riff about the Carl Crawford signing being an $80 million penalty for declining to re-sign Jason Bay. I agree with that, too.
