I enjoy Felger, but he and Mazz go too far sometimes. I don't think the only connection between Bay and Crawford si the Sox could sign Crawford because they passed on Bay.
As I stated earlier, I did start to believe Sox mgt. believed they were smarter than everyoen else and could get by without paying big bucks to free agents. Fine, do that, but don't charge me top dollar at the same time. So I do like seeing them throw their weight around. In fact, I'd heard somewhere that the Sox made the seven-year offer to Cliff Lee just to force the Yanks to do the same. If so, me likee.
